It's Friday evening and Rick and I have just returned from a delicious dinner out on the town following our afternoon Drawing class. In preparation for our trip to Italy, we have signed up for two art classes- Beginning Drawing and Watercolor. Who knew there would be homework for art class!!! All of a sudden we are analyzing paper, shading, contrasts, vanishing points, horizon lines, and more. We both are pretty good humored about it all, though Rick wants to get everything to look as realistic as possible and I am challenged by "perspective." We keep hammering away though. I can proudly say that we both can now draw a pretty mean shoe! We hope to have some wonderful drawings of our trip as mementos, along with our photos and journal.

While we don't leave until September 10th, I wanted to set up this blog now as we will be gone for six and a half weeks in the fall. I figured that setting up a blog would be a great way to let everyone know where we are, what's going on and to see some photos along the way. We can then turn our memories into a scrapbook along with our photos and drawings.
